BaYou with Love Sustainable Jewelry by Nikki Reed

In an effort to be good stewards of the Earth, many brands are producing and many consumers are buying eco-friendly products. Actress, screenwriter, and musician Nikki Reed and Morgan Bogle, founder of Freedom of Animals, established the sustainable life style brand BaYou with Love.

This ecologically conscious brand, whose name was inspired by the Louisiana Bayou, includes a sustainable jewelry line made with 100% recycled gold. BaYou with Love partnered with Dell to used gold extracted in an environmentally friendly way from old computer motherboards. In addition, they responsibly source the gems for their jewelry.

Nikki Reed designs the 10-18 karat gold jewelry collection and the brand’s artisans craft the jewelry in Los Angeles using traditional metal-smithing techniques. Therefore less waste and pollution results than there would be with high volume, machine production. Because the pieces are crafted locally, it ensures a rigorous adherence to environmental standards in all processes.
