Penelope Cruz Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry Collection

Penelope Cruz previewed pieces from her  jewelry collection, Penelope Cruz  Fine Jewelry Collection for Atelier Swarovski, at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2018 and officially launched the jewelry line July 2, 2018 during Paris Haute Couture Week. The collection which  debuted in France happens to feature the colors of the french flag – blue, white and red Swarovski Created gemstones. The jewelry is made with lab gemstones and responsibly sourced mined gemstones and precious metals in line with the “conscious luxury” of the brand.

Penelope Cruz gives a sneak peek at  pieces from the Penelope Cruz Fine Jewelry Collection for Atelier Swarovski on the red carpet at the 71st Cannes Film Festival. Cruz wore Lola Long Drop earrings and a Lola Ring that feature pear cut Swarovski Created Rubies and Swarovski Created Diamonds and are made with FairTrade white gold.

Penelope Cruz officially debuts her Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry Collection during Paris Haute Couture Week. The Spanish actress wore Angel Earrings, the Angel Bracelet and an Angel Ring from the collection. The matching set features emerald cut Swarovski Created Sapphires, Swarovski Genuine White Topaz and Swarovski Created Diamonds and are made with FairTrade white gold.

Conscious Luxury

Penelope Cruz has collaborated with the team of designers at Atelier Swarovski to offer a fine jewelry collection that isn’t just elegant but imbued with the actress’s personal touch. Cruz was actively involved with the design. Examples of some of her input include drawing inspiration from a ruby ring that belonged to her grandmother, Modesta, and naming pieces from the jewelry collection after her daughter, Luna.

Two jewelry pieces named for Cruz’s daughter – Luna Earrings and a Luna Ring -  are pictured below. The pieces are designed with pear cut and marquis cut Swarovski Genuine White Topaz gemstones and Swarovski Created Diamonds.

 

The Swarovski Created Diamonds, Swarovski Created Sapphires and Swarovski Created Rubies give the glamor of their mined counterparts at a fraction of the cost.

According to the Swarovski Gemstones website, the lab diamonds are so similar to mined diamonds that the difference can only be detected by sophisticated lab equipment. (Swarovski Created gemstones are also laser inscribed with identifiers that can be seen with a microscope to distinguish them from mined stones.)

The Atelier Swarovski brand combines sustainability and luxury in its socially conscious sourcing of materials and the use of created gemstones in their jewelry designs. Furthermore, lab made diamonds are gaining acceptance as 70% of millennials would consider a lab made gemstone as the main stone in their engagement ring according to a study by MVI Marketing LLC. _source

The price range for the Penelope Cruz Fine Jewelry Collection is about 9, 000 – 57,000 USD.  Atelier Swarovski hopes to debut a more affordable, entry level collection created with crystals in the spring of 2019
